For those who missed the exciting Stanford 20/20 Tournament this past summer or those who just want to relive the awesome spectacle in Antigua that mesmerised cricket fans all over the world, the 18 matches of the Stanford 20/20 are being rebroadcast in the region over the next few weeks culminating with a live presentation by Allen Stanford of the Stanford 20/20 championship rings to the Guyana Cricket Team in Antigua on Saturday, 25 November after the final match is replayed.
The matches began airing on Saturday, 28 October with the first game between USVI and St. Maarten. After the final match on 25 November, members of the Guyana Cricket Team will accept their rings, valued at US$4000 each, from Stanford in a live ceremony from the Stanford Cricket Ground, and on Sunday, 26 November, a documentary about the Tournament will premiere which will give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the organisation and implementation of this historic regional competition.
“The interest in Stanford 20/20 has not waned, despite the fact that it’s been over two months since the final match was played,” says Stanford. “We continue to hear from fans and viewers who just can’t get enough of the competition. I hope that everyone enjoys the rebroadcast and that viewers will tune in for the presentation of the rings to Guyana and the documentary. Plans are already underway for next year’s Tournament which will be even bigger and more exciting.”
