Industry giants Microsoft Caribbean, Hewlett Packard and Apple, along with top local technology companies, will showcase their products and services at Cayman's first ever Technology Expo, being held in April at the Marriott Resort Grand Cayman.
A Quincentennial Signature Event, with major sponsorship by Cable and Wireless, Cayman National Bank and CUC, the Expo is a celebration of the Cayman Islands' advances in the technology industry over the past 500 years. The event will also provide a preview of what consumers can expect in the coming months in terms of new, state of the art equipment.
Visitors to the Expo over a three-day period will be able to browse vendor display booths, attend discussions on business and technology strategy issues, and hear presentations from such companies as Microsoft Caribbean. Some exhibitors will also be selling their products on-site at special prices.
The Tech Expo is the brainchild of Quincentennial Executive Director, Mrs. Angela Martins, who for many years has desired to see an event of this kind occur in the Cayman Islands. Wesley Howell, Chairman of the Technology Expo Committee, is also excited about the event. "I think the Tech Expo will be an amazing educational experience for young and old alike," Howell says. "As we celebrate 500 years of history, we cannot discount or forget the great strides that the Cayman Islands have made during this time in the area of technology. This fair will give us a mere glimpse into what was, what's now, what's next and what's later, both locally and on a global scale."
The Quincentennial Technology Expo will take place 10-12 April. Booth space is filling up quickly. Companies who wish to be a part of this major event should contact the Quincentennial Office on 946 9992, by email tech@cayman500.ky or visit the website at www.cayman500.ky.
